It can be frustrating when you're suddenly unable to access your VPS, especially when you're on a deadline. But don’t worry — here are some simple steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

1. Try a Reboot

The most common reason your VPS becomes unreachable is that it may be stuck or frozen due to high resource usage or a software crash.

To safely reboot your VPS, follow these steps:

  • Step 1: Log in to your Alovhost client account at https://alovhost.com/clientarea

  • Step 2: In the top menu, click on “Services”

  • Step 3: Click on the name of your VPS from the list

  • Step 4: On the left-hand sidebar, click on the  “Reboot icon”

  • Step 5: Confirm the action and wait about 1–2 minutes

2. Use the VNC Option:

If Remote Desktop (RDP) is not working, you can try accessing your VPS using the built-in VNC viewer:

  • Go to Services → Click your VPS

  • Click the small monitor icon

  • Wait a few seconds and click Launch VNC

This will give you direct access to your VPS even if RDP is down.

3. Check Your Credentials:
Make sure you’re using the latest IP/Hostname, Username, and Password provided to you via email. If you’ve changed the password from inside Windows, the new one should be used for RDP login.
